The Skyjack SJ3219 is a narrow width battery electric scissor lift with a platform height of 6m and a working height of 8m. Typical applications include plastering and interior fit-out, mechanical and electrical works, and facilities management.
The model name denotes dimensions in feet, so it is 32 inches wide and 19 feet high. Some alternative models include the Genie GS1932, Haulotte Compact 8, JLG 6RS, and Snorkel S3219E.
Small slab scissor lifts like the SJ3219 are designed primarily for use indoors, but can be used outdoors if on relatively level, firm & smooth ground like concrete.
These machines are rented on a self drive basis.
The guardrail can be dismantled to fit through height restricted areas. With the rail installed, the stowed height is 2.13m. This can be reduced to 2.02m with the rails removed.
Forklift pockets and lifting eyes are fitted if you need to move the scissor lift with a telehandler or crane.
The scissor lift may sound an audible alarm if it is overloaded and/or not on level ground. To reset this scissor lift, reduce weight in the basket and lower the platform to its lowest position. In some cases, you may need to use the emergency lowering bar.
The platform deck on this lift is raised and lowered with hydraulic rams. Emergency stop fitted to control box in the basket and at the base of the machine.
Note that there is a pothole protection device fitted to these machines which reduces the ground clearance to less than 2cm when the platform is raised. Take care to remove any loose debris from the ground and avoid it getting trapped under the machine.
Can be driven on a slope of up to 30% at stowed height.
To prevent the scissor lift tipping over, there is a built in tilt sensor which will stop the machine if it is at an unsafe angle.
Safety harnesses should be worn by operatives in the basket, connected to the lanyard attachment points in the cage via a short lanyard.
This Scissor Lift is charged using a 16A 110V socket, a charging lead is included in the hire. There is also a 16A 110V socket in the basket that allows corded power tools to be used by operatives working on the platform.
Should the scissor lift run out of charge too far from a charging point, there is a free-wheeling release valve which allows you to push the machine manually. In addition, an emergency lowering bar is fitted to the base of the machine.
