History
The City of Manchester Stadium is home to Premier League club Manchester City and has a domestic football capacity of 53,600 which means it is the 7th largest football stadium in England and the 11th largest in the UK.
Initially opened in 2002 as an athletics stadium for the Commonwealth Games, the arena was converted into one of the leading stadiums in the Premier League.
It was first designed as part of Manchester's failed bid for the 2000 Olympic Games and was built for the Commonwealth Games at a cost of £110 million.
